IXNA - Mi Ne Parolas (7", 1981)

IXNA released this lone 7" in 1981, leaving the world begging for more.  As students of David Berhman and Robert Ashley at Mills College in Oakland, they combined the Lovely Records aesthetic of warmly played minimalist music with the avant pop sensibilities of Brian Eno or The Flying Lizards.  The A-side, "Mi Ne Parolas," is sung in the constructed language Esperanto, sounding both alien and familiar in its vocal rhythms.  A personal favorite, it is one of those singles that can be played over and over again without getting stale.
