Ellen Zweig and John Di Stefano - We All Must Be Explorers (cassette, 1986)

45.00

Unplayed original stock copies.  Barely released in 1986, in an edition of only 30 copies, this is a wonderful collaboration between poet/author Ellen Zweig and electronics/percussion genius John Di Stefano.

"Created for Falkirk Community Cultural Center, a Victorian mansion in San Rafael, California.  Research among old photographs, and writing about the original inhabitants of Falkirk, who travelled to the Orient, was combined with research into the life and travels of Alexandra David-Neel (French, 1868-1969), who travelled to Lhasa disguised as a Tibetan beggar-pilgrim.  John Di Stefano travelled to Nepal in 1985, collecting some of the sounds he used in the music for this piece.  Other sounds were created in the studio using analog and digital instruments."
